Ariana Grande-Butera (/,a:ri'a:n@ 'gra:ndeI/ 'gra:ndeI/@ GRAHN-day; [note 1] born June 26 in 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her vocal range of four octaves and her signature use of the whistle register are praised by both the both critics and the media. Grande has received numerous awards throughout her career, including two Grammy Awards and one Brit Award. She also won three American Music Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and nine MTV Video Music Awards.


Grande started her career in music at the age of 15 during the 2008 Broadway musical 13. Her character of Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious (2010-2013) as well as Sam & Cat (2013) made her famous. Grande signed with Republic Records in 2011 after company executives had viewed YouTube videos of her singing songs. Her 2020 collaborations "Stuck with U" with Justin Bieber and "Rain on Me" together with Lady Gaga helped her break the record for most number-one debuts on the Hot 100, the latter receiving the Grammy Award for Best Pop duo or group performance. Grande has expanded her trap music genre with her sixth studio album Positions (2020), which , along with the title track were ranked at the top of the charts in the UK as well as the US. In 2021, she teamed up with The Weeknd on the remix of "Save Your Tears", earning her sixth US top-seller single.
